I wanted a CarPlay-compatible system in my Generation 4 4Runner but I didn't want to spend a ton of money - so I designed this bracket instead! This bracket is designed to fit over the existing stock stereo header and mount an iPad Mini (generation 2 or 3, probably the others as well). It stays in place with powerful neodymium magnets - you do have to glue magnets to your dash, as shown in the images, but they are fairly discrete. I used 2" x 1/4" x 1/16" grade 45 Neodymium magnets and this mounting has never budged. If you are concerned about the strength of the mount you could always increase thickness to the 1/8" instead of the 1/16".

The two parts need to be epoxied together. Insert 2x1/2x1/16 neodymium magnets in the recesses. You'll need to glue the same type of magnet to the 4Runner dash (make sure you have the polarity correct, as well as the mounting location).
