Empire vase, white marble, France (?), Reign of Napoleon Bonaparte (1804 - 1815). Musée du Cinquantenaire (Brussels, Belgium). Made with ReMake and ReCap Pro from AutoDesk.
The body of this neo-classical vase is decorated with reliefs representing eight of the Twelve Works of Hercules. As regards the form and the decorative motifs, this work, which is not without merit, differs from the previous and contemporary productions, rather inspired by the publication of the “crater Medici” of Florence by Piranesi.
