This Bison latifrons skeleton, created by the Idaho Virtual Laboratory of the Idaho Museum of Natural History, was created digitally by combining scanned fossil specimens from Bureau of Reclamation collections. Because it's creation is not unlike the famous Mary Shelley character, this model has been fondly named "Frankenbison." The specimen, owned by the Bureau of Reclamation, was part of a larger Bison latifrons 3D scanning project to bring fossils to the public virtually.
