Summary

BULLETZ are really cool Bullet shaped containers with a screw cap. They are easy to print and look best with the bullet (cap) printed in a different colour from the cartridge (container).

BULLETZ are useful as a container for small things and the near seamless joint (when print well and screwed together) make them an ideal hiding place for things... because they look like an ornament / display model. People won't realize there's something hidden inside!

The bullet (cap) and cartridge (container) are printed separately. The cartridge is 11.5cm tall making it readily printable on even smaller machines like a MakerBot Mini. When the bullet and cartridge are screwed together the finished product is approx. 16cm tall

As long as you have a well set up machine and use a good slicing app you should have no problem printing off BULLETZ. However, please refer to the print settings and instructions as well as view all the images provide.

The .stl's have been provided separately so you can print them together all in one colour or separately to make your BULLETZ more colourful. They print great in PLA and PET-G. No Support required but Raft  is recommended due to the minimal base surface area under the bullet (cap) in particular.

Note: If you like this check out the rest of my fun and practical designs... and please post images of your BULLETZ for others to see.

Print Settings

Printer Brand: MakerBot

Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2

Rafts: Yes

Supports: No

Resolution: Standard / 0.20mm

Infill: 3 Shells / 35% or more Infill to make the threaded area in particular strong.

Notes:

Raft is recommended due to the minimal surface area under the bullet (cap). No support required.  Use 3 shells and high infill (35% or more) to ensure the threads are solid so they will function well and last well in use.

Post-Printing

Just remove the Raft and screw together...

BULLETZ should print easily on most machines at standard sacle. However, if your thread is tight a light spray of silicone oil may help. If they will not screw together at all this is probably due to (a) your printer not being accurate enough to print threads well or (b) your slicing app not accurately enough slicing the file. A possible solution to this is try uniformly scaling both files up by a small percentage (5%). This will increase the thread clearances.
