Ladies and gentlemen... the 1982 Chevrolet Chevette.
Why would I do this? I decided to learn Blender and I needed inspiration. My first car was a 1982 Chevette, so why not?
Listen. This isn't a bad car. It actually has a lot of character. But this isn't about the car. Let's talk about the model.
I tried to build a faithful recreation of the Chevette 5-door hatchback using only old photographs, my own nostalgic memory, and lots of vertex pushing in Blender. I hope you enjoy it.
Incidentally, the Chevette didn't change much between the late 70s and about 1983, so this model pretty much represents those years. It was also branded as the Pontiac T-1000, with the only difference being the grill logo (and badging, which my model doesn't have).

Here is my advice: Print the car (without wheels) first and then glue the wheels to it. You'll need supports for the front and rear of the car and the side mirror. This isn't an easy print because of the detail, but I've tried to make it mostly printable.
The model is 6 inches, bumper to bumper; about 1:24 scale. I wouldn't try to print it any smaller than about half that size (about matchbox size). Even then, details like the side mirror aren't going to work very well. The two models in my photos are 8 inches and 3 inches.

I used old photos to model the car with Blender. I cleaned up and scaled the model in Mesh Mixer.
I would consider this more of a conceptual model than a 100% accurate miniature. It's not like I have detailed blueprints of a Chevette. There's definitely room for improvement.
