Printing the Skyrim Frost Dragon with my Anycubic Photon printer
If you are using the files as they are, you should better add more supports for the tail (I had distortion due to overhang) and you should remove/replace some supports from the back spine and the head (they merged and made 1 big support, harder to remove)
Printer:
Anycubic Photon
Rafts:
No
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
0.050mm
Infill:
no
wear safety glasses and gloves
remove the dragon from the plate (very easy because there were only supports)
remove/cut the supports
wash it in IPA (the alcohol, not the beer)
clean the resin from the inside chest leaking from the holes in the neck and the tail
put it under UV light (45W, 2mins up, 2mins down)
clean the green goo from the machine, your tools, adn your working surface
spend hours watching this beauty :)
I used the green resin from Anycubic
For the design, I downloaded the Skyrim frost dragon then:
hollowed it with Meshmixer (using 1,5mm thickness for the walls) and created evacuation holes (1mm diameter)
addedd the supports by using B9creator. I used the Mid supports and put the bottom view with x-ray function to detect the parts needing supports
sliced it within the Photon slicer using the default parameters:
layer thickness = 0.05
normal exposure = 10s
off time = 1s
bottom exposure = 50s
bottom layers = 8
Total print time = 11hours
