This model was printed using S3D and had split process depending on the height. The bottom of the tower (below the first observatory) was printed at 60mm/s and was slowed down at the top eventually slowing to 1mm/s for the needle (the needle itself was printed in vasemode, and 1mm/s still seemed too fast).
Painting process
To get the model to resemble Tokyo Tower instead of the Eiffel tower it needs some paint; but first, make sure that you are in a well ventilated area when painting, and that you are wearing the proper safety equipment before starting, Thanks!

Cleaning up, and Filling in the gaps
After carefully removing the supports, your model will look like the Eiffel tower. Don't worry! We will fix that soon. Make sure you clean up the model; we don't want any stray hairs or droopy plastic. Now that the model is hair free, we can start painting. To start you want to use sandable filler primer, Rust-oleum works well and cost around five bucks (Its the paint on the far left). Make sure that you don't paint to heavy, and you should leave time for the coats to dry. (Remember that the sandable filler primer is supposed to be thick, but not drippy)
Its sanding time!
Now that your model has been cleaned up and painted, sand away! But be careful, it doesn't take much force to break off the needle. The amount of sanding that is done is up to you, depending on what kind of finish you want. Personally, I like being able to partially see the print lines, but you don't have to leave them visible. If you notice any gaps that the paint couldn't fill in, I recommend using Elmer's color change wood filler; this stuff works miracles!

Taping up and Masking off
With everything sanded to your liking, its almost time to paint. Take masking, or painter's tape, (either will work) and seal off the feet of the tower along with everything but the top ledge of the building below (doing so will help add depth to the project).
Adding some color
Take the partially masked off tower, and apply white spray paint, making sure to get an even coverage across the print. You can start to get excited at this point if you weren't already, this thing is coming together!
Prepping for paint and adding more tape
Leaving the tape that is already on the model, add more tape. what is covered up now will remain white, while the other parts are free to be painted. You can use the photo below as a reference along with other pictures of the Tokyo Tower

Almost There!
You are done with masking, and now get to add that pop of color. Spray the model with red spray-paint, remembering to spray lightly to avoid dripping. Once you are satisfied with the amount of paint allow it to thoroughly dry, your patience will be rewarded!
The Final Reveal!
Now that everything is properly dry, take off that tape! Once again, be careful with the tip, but once the tape is off you're done! (unless you want to give it a coat of matte gloss) You now get to bask in the magnificent glory of your Tokyo tower, well done!
