The USS Bradbury was from a somewhat popular fan-fic that had some basis in canon TNG lore. Whether intentional or not, whenever a read-out of Federation ships would be on screen in the background, if the USS Bradbury was on it, its status would always be that it was undergoing engine testing, through the series entire run, so the fan-fic design for this with the double hull and the integrated engines sprung up as a way to explain why it was always so touchy, going on a series of adventures and gaining some internet fame. I did slice the thing to print, as I wanted a 1/2500 scale one to go with my other ships, and it's supposed to be 600m long, so that got it to fit on my print bed.
