Hi! This is my first thing, but I'll be uploading more soon.
It's my attempt at designing a double pendulum.
The concept: This is a simple contraption illustraiting the beauty of chaotic motion.
It is ment to be mounted on your desk with a lamp/furniture clamp, or a wood clamp (or any other clamping mechanism in this regard).
What you will need: 2 - 608 (skateboard) bearings (optionally a third one as counterweight), the allready mentioned clamp and (depending on your print) hot glue.
IMPORTANT: The clearence between the bearings ond the printed parts is 0.2 mm, but comment below if you would need an other vlaue, for the pendulum to work.
To set it in motion: Grab one or bothe arms, giv it a litle spin, and watch the magic happen.
The hole thing at rest is 30 cm (300mm) tall, and it can extend up to 55 cm while in motion.
Printer Brand:
Creality
Printer:
CR-10
Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Resolution:
0.3 mm
Infill:
15%-20%
Notes:
You might want higher infill on the Base and the Tower for stability.
You will need to print all the files, except only one of the lower arms, depending if you want a counter weight or not.
Assembly
1# Push a bearing into every hole.
2# Align the bearings' holes with studs and snap them in in this order; I.Upper Arm stud to Lower Arm bearing; II.Tower stud to Upper Arm bearing.
3# Push the Tower into the base with the four holes (This one is pretty obvious). If you find that the Tower is getting lose, just hot glue it to the base.
4# Use a clamp to secure the whole contraption to your desk. As the Base has symetrical holes, you can clamp it on the front or rear edge of your desc.
