Currently working on a model of the Liberator. This is a small version about the right size for tabletop fleet games, or use as some kind of ship in the Firefly boardgame, that sort of thing.

I will be uploading better versions as I make them. This prints fine burt the geometry is a bit "messy" if you wanted to modify it. I'd recommend waiting for a better model if you plan to do much editing, but you are welcome to try.

Note it prints in parts. I'll change this later but I'm uploading what I have for now.
There's a small built in support under the "solar panels" on the main hull, thise will break off easily but might need some filing to get smooth.

The tiny pyramids push into little hollows on the joining surfaces to make sure pieces are aligned well. This is super fiddly on these tiny models so feel free to leave them out.

This version has simplified details suitable for a smaller print. You are welcome to print larger, but,  I'll release higher detail versions for that as they are ready and tested.

Feedback please! I am still learning Blender and if you find any flaws it will give me something else to study.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 3

Rafts:

Yes

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.12

Infill:

not required

Notes:

I printed this on a raft because it keeps all the bits together nicely. No need for supports, infill if you like but it should be fine without. I printed at .12 and it looks OK to my eyes.

Post-Printing

  • snip off the built in supports

  • pop the pyramids into the slots, if you can

  • glue the surface, push the matching piece onto the pyramid or flat face and hold until set

  • repeat for each piece

Future Plans

I am rebuilding a cleaner base model. I'll add other files as they are ready, these will include more detailed models and probably arranged diferently to print. i'm thinking of arranging it all as 2 parts : engine globe and the rest standing upright from th part where the globe attached, "candelabra" style.

-This will leave support marks on the back of the gun nacelles.

  • This will allow people to print the globe in clear green if desired.

Let me know what you think.
