Though I provide this print for free, if you'd like to shout me a coffee or support my work - all of which helps me create more of these free models - you can do so using Thingiverse donations or on the following links:
Version 2 of this sword, despite being modelled to the correct size according to the lore, was hilariously massive. This one has been rescaled from a 40.5" blade down to 34", making it much more usable for human sized humans.
New blade length of 34";
Space added in Blade parts 1 & 2 to allow the installation of neodymium magnets so the blade can break down for transport;
Now uses round cores, giving better lateral stability.
In order to construct this blade, you well need the correct cores. If you do wish to use it in "transportable" mode you will need the following
If you don't need this transportable feature, you can replace the main steel two part core with a single 6mm x 1m steel core
If you wish to use the magnets, ensure that you print SILVER BLADE 1 with it's base facing downwards (blade towards the ground) and SILVER BLADE 2 the opposite way (blade facing up). After 3 layers (at 0.2mm) you'll see the space for the magnets start to be included. Pause the print on both of these parts at 6mm, insert the magnets into the hole (ensuring correct polarity directions) and then resume printing.
Note; the magnets had a habit of jumping out and attaching to my printer on resume, so I added a drop of superglue to hold them in before resuming.
Supports should only be required on the POMMEL piece and the two CROSSGUARD pieces;
The scabbard is designed to be wrapped in 1.5mm thick leather.
