This is a basic puppy model designed using Smoothie-3d, a free online tool to create 3D models from images.
I found a picture of a puppy (side views work best) and created a basic model.
Export the model as STL or OBJ
Import into MeshMixer and find problem areas.
I sized the model (Edit > Transform)
In this model the ears were too thin (Analyze > Thickness > select area > Edit > Offset)
I also wanted to have a completely flat base (Edit > Plane Cut)
I did create supports for my model (Analyze > Overhangs) which worked great.
