With the new Apple Watches around the corner, I needed a placeholder for a gift so I made this. It's a quickie, but it comes together nicely with superglue and a little spray paint. It takes about 2.5hrs to print everything. Add another 45m to finish, paint, and assemble.
I used ninjaflex for the band, but anything suitably flexible should work. Make sure it prints slowly, without retractions, and small layers (ie 1500mm/min, 0.2mm layers). Increase your top and bottom solid layers to match the 9 total layers in the band print. Precutting the filament and leaving it above the printer helped me get a nice smooth feed.
The parts are all separate to allow for easy painting. I used PLA with 0.1mm layer height and batch printed them which gives the clasp time to cool. No supports.
After any painting and finishing, superglue the button and crown to the side.
Put the 3 holes on each end of the band through the 3 pegs on the watch face. Feed the ends through the slots in the watch body. Band 2 (with the 2 holes) goes on the top nearest the crown. Put some superglue in the 6 holes at the bottom of the watch body. Be generous. Pull the bands apart to draw the faceplate down into the body and clamp it down for a bit.
Superglue the pulse sensor to the bottom.
With the watch facing up, put the clasp bottom underneath the hole in the top band. Add some superglue and center the top clasp above it and clamp for a bit.
