An Ohio Class submarine model. I was on the Georgia for a few years and am now in the world of product design, figured I should model the Ohio Class since I couldn't find a great one out there.
Some assembly required.
To get the props, you'll have to print extra planes and then cut them out and glue them on.
I printed the sub out of Black ABS and then the dry dock platform out of Wood Filled PLA. I used MEK to secure the ABS parts together.
The holes in the dry dock are for .25" x .25" neodymium magnets. The hollow hull is so you can fill it with a ferrous material (I used small nuts threaded onto a small screw, I think they were 6/32... or maybe smaller, it's been a little bit). This way the sub stays nice and secure on the platform.
The orientation of the STL's isn't indicative of their best print orientation.
Good luck. I've had this for a little while and figured I should share it in case anyone else is looking for an SSBN/SSGN model.
