CSS Virginia was the first steam-powered ironclad warship built by the Confederate States Navy during the first year of the American Civil War; she was constructed as a casemate ironclad using the raised and cut down original lower hull and engines of the scuttled steam frigate USS Merrimack. Virginia was one of the participants in the Battle of Hampton Roads, opposing the Union's USS Monitor in March 1862. The battle is chiefly significant in naval history as the first battle between ironclads.

This model was originally intended to complement a model of U.S.S. Monitor that a friend of mine made. After an initial search on Thingiverse, I realized that Virginia is rather poorly-represented on the site, so I figured I'd upload my attempt.
It features a rounded fore and aft superstructure, as well as a small pilothouse and an elongated fantail. I have yet to model the lower hull of the vessel as well as some of its finer details.
The model stretches 385mm long with a beam of 72mm. This makes it roughly 1:200 scale-ish--in truth I did not really design it to scale.
The version I printed was at 25% scale of the design.
