Here is my version of working Thumper from Dune by Frank Herbert.I used SG90 servo and I modified it from 180 degrees to 360 degrees (continuous rotation). It's fairly easy and there is a lot of videos on YouTube with step by step instructions.
Everything is powered by 9V battery and Arduino Nano, mainly to set the speed of the servo motor. You could skip arduino and connect servo directly to the battery if you like.
