DooM Guy - Collectable Figure

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X1_qXvt95U
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msvOUxyuycg

Features:

  • 23cm tall

  • Movable head, arms, hands and legs

  • The button on the chest will play the pickup sound of the game (up to you)

  • Printable without support

What you need:

  • 7x Screws 3x13mm

  • 1x ISD1820 board with 40mm speaker and some wires

  • 1x CR2032 coin cell battery 3V

  • 1x CR2032 coin cell socket

  • 1x Tactile switch 6x6x8mm

  • 1x 4-pin connector (optional)

  • 1x Super-glue

  • 1x Hot-glue

Preperations for the ISD1820 board:

Please see the pictures of the board as soldering guide.
I removed the microphone and replaced it with a wire with a headphone jack.
I plugged it in my mobile phone, played the sound and pressed the record button on the board.
Be sure to use a mono version of the sound.
After the sound was recorded I removed the wire with the headphone jack.

Assembling the parts:

Please see the youtube video as assemble guide.
Please use the assemble tool to super-glue the joints into the head, arms, and legs.
It is important to keep the correct distance else the two body parts will not fit together or the limbs move to easily.
I made the tool because I don't want to risk that super-glue drips on the body parts.
Also make sure that no super-glue drips on the sphere-shaped part of the joints.
I used hot-glue to attach the speaker and the board into the head.
The tactile switch was fixed in place with some hot-glue.
Make sure that no hot-glue drips between the tactile switch and the switch extension.
Be carefull when screwing the body parts together because the screws are aligned with the layers and tend to break them apart.
The last step is to super-glue the bags to the body. Make sure you still can rotate the legs.
Please post some 'Made' pictures of your printed figures.

Painting the figure:

I printed PLA with a 0.25mm layer hight.
Normally I would suggest to sand the figure to remove the layer lines....
but it took already 12h to paint it with acryl paint and I think it looks good even without waisting some more time for sanding.
If you don't want to paint it then I can recommend 'Polyalchemy Elixir' filament for a shiny metallic look.
