This model is my own body scan. I'm into cosplay (Batman mainly) and building costumes. I frequently need to put my costumes on a mannequin to work on them. It's near to impossible to find a mannequin with your exact measurements or one that's in a neutral pose. So I decided to have myself 3D scanned and to print myself :) The 3D scan was done by https://www.facebook.com/leeway3Dstudio/ in Dublin Ireland, check them out.
I posed in a way that makes it easy to work on all parts of a costume (i.e. fingers apart so you could work on gloves, arms out enough so they are not touching my sides) so I think this mannequin would come in handy for both costume makers and people that just want to display costumes. This seems to be how must actors pose when they are being scanned by movie studios for the making of their hero costumes.
I've just started the process of printing myself on my Creality CR-10 printer and have been posting the progress on my Instagram account, @dark_knight_begins, and there has been a lot of interest in the files so I've decided to share them here.
I've split up the model into pieces that I think make sense for a mannequin, in terms of getting clothes on and off of it. I've been hollowing out the model using mesh mixer as I go and cut parts up to fit on my CR-10. Depending on your printer you may need to split them up further. I'll upload the hollowed out pieces here as I make them.
I'm 181cm tall (almost 6'), chest size: 41", waist size, 30"
Happy printing! (and no sex toy application please! ;))
