This is a T-65 X-wing for "X-WING the miniature game". I did start on the base of the excellent T-65 model created by Astrofossil.

You will need a 1 mm metal rod to serve as the axle of the wings ( a paper clip works fine, RC push rods as well ).

Hope you folks will enjoy it.

Notes:

Use the Support interface feature of CURA to print it :

Fuselage : print it vertical, nose up.

Back :  Print it vertical , back plate up.

Canons : print them horizontal , an position them above the flat bed of 3 mm.the support interface will detach nice and clean. Rotate the canon so that the rectangular at the noze of the canon is parallel to the bed.

Wings : Print them vertical , thrusters up. Once printed, cut the interior edge of the wings just a bit, so that the cylinders of each wing can insert between the 2 others wings. ( you will understand this once you have the wings printed... )

magnet peg : print it vertically.

Print all the pieces at once for better quality.

Post-Printing

Trim the internal edges of the wings so that the cylinders fit inside of it.

find yourself a 1mm thick metal rod. A paper click or a RC push rod work nicely.

Insert the rod into the fuselage. The rod goes deep into, bring solidity to ship noze, do not hesitate to push it hard.

Cut the metal rod to the edge of the fuselage rear, leave it 1mm longer or so. This part will insert in the back plate.

Clean-up the hole on in the back plate, so that the metal rod you found can fit into.

Insert the wings in the fuselage.

Test the fit of the back plate before to apply glue.

Apply glue to the bottom rear of the fuselage ( just a little ! do not glue the wings in. ) , apply glue to the top flat part of the fuselage.

insert the back plate, and let it dry.

apply a bit of glue on the triangular edges of the wings, and press fit the cannons.

Go Shoot some TIE FIGHTERS!
