I took BiancaW's TOS Phaser Rifle and reduced it in size to 1:9n scale, compatible with 8" action figures. Sliced for printing with CuraEngine and Slic3r, and significant parts of the model were so thin or narrow that they just disappeared. I used Microsoft 3D Builder to add a cone to the forward dish and thicker cylinders to the barrel and upright "antenna," so they'd be thick enough to print on my low-end printer. I let the barrel protrude a bit beyond the dish for added interest, since the thicker dish sort of blunted the "coolness" factor of the rifle. Printed in turquoise filament, it definitely looks like something that would have come with Mego Captain Kirk in the '70s!

I added a slightly thicker cylinder over the barrel, and extended its length just a tad to add some interest to the "business end" of the weapon in the smaller scale. I added a cone with a hemispherically concave opening in the base to make the front-end dish antenna thick enough to print, and added two thicker upright cylinders to the "antenna"/"Gunsight" thingie that sticks up off the top, again, thickening it so it would print in this small scale.
