Statue of Napolean
The original 3D scan of this famous cultural history piece was by Artec 3D, who was nice enough to provide it under CC-Attribution license. The scan was done by French 3D visualization company IMA Solutions using an Artec Eva, a battery and a tablet for the Musée de la Révolution française in Vizille, France. Scanning time was 2 days, processing time was 10 days.
I took a smaller data subset to shrink the model, did 3 passes of cleanup and surface repair for 3D printing and generated a nice fabrication-ready watertight STL. I just wanted a complicated model to test myself on the various software tools.
