This stick grenade is based on the Model 24 "Potato Masher" stick grenades used by German troops in WWII.
The threads work, and have generous tolerances. Once everything is screwed all of the pieces hold true without any wobble.
The handle is wood, and I shaped it the tools I had on hand. (A lathe would have been really handy here) The exposed part of the handle is 9.5 inches long. The two smaller parts that attach to the printed pieces are .5 inch long.

Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Resolution:
Cura's "Use Adaptive Layers"
Infill:
30%
Filament: Hatchbox PLA Black
Notes:
No supports are needed anywhere on this model. I put a 45 degree angle inside the head of the grenade so it can print clean without supports or bridging. This also adds a bit of extra weight towards the top, which is nice.
Cura adaptive layers settings:
Adaptive layers variation: 0.1mm
Adaptive layers variation step size: 0.01mm
Adaptive layers threshold: 270 <-- I played with this number until the side walls were mostly printed near .3 and the threads were printed at .1
I also set Cura to have the layer change occur at the same point, that way I would get a straight seem up the side of the grenade. This way it would look like I used sheet metal and wrapped it,
I masked off the threads and then finished it with several layers of filler primer and sanding smooth. Hit it with a base coat of dark green spray paint.
Once everything was dry I pulled off the masking from the threads and lightly hit them with the green. I left enough of a tolerance on the threads to allow for some paint
I then made a stencil with painters tape, did a clear coat to fill in any small gaps and then followed up with white for the lettering. (This did not work well. Pulling off the tape ruined much of my lettering, but this just helped with my weathering)
I did two final clear coats to seal everything. (I did not follow the instructions on the spray can and got some spray paint bubbling, which again lent some nice texture for weathering)
Finally I came through with acrylic paints and a chip brush for adding in the rust.
