This is another Star Wars ugly for X-Wing miniatures. Scale 1/270. Havent dealt with pegs yet. I ll probably use magnetic stand again.
This is a Remix of Tie-Fighter of rbross and Y-Wing of lagnaf.
Both were cleaned, sectioned, joined and cleaned again.
Model is printable, as is evident from the photos.
Printer Brand: 3D Systems
Printer: Cube 3
Rafts: Yes
Supports: Yes
Resolution: 70 microns
Notes:
I have printed it twice and i give you both models i used. Either: Model Tye-Wing Upright.stl printed standing upright on its engines no additional supports. Or: Model TYE-Wing_-_supported.stl printed as it is with no additional supports. I recommend using my custom supports. Slicers i used tended to generate unremovable supports in the middle of the engines. optionaly: Take the clear stl and generate whatever supports you please. :-)
Removing supports
When printed standing upright, removal of supports was relatively easy process with scalpel or wirecutters. However when i printed it in this way, my printer did mess up the top layer, therefore cabin. Not good enogh for my purposes.
When printed horizontaly, removal of the inner supports is difficult. Engines tend to bend a crack. I used wire cutters and held the parts as firmly as possible.
Cutting supports with a scalpel against thin air deforms the model a lot.
(....or keep the supports in an paint them. The ship is supposed to by junkyard slapjob anyway ;-) )
