This is a remix of a vertical print of a humpback whale from 2015. I have made a few changes to allow for easy printing on my delta printer. NO supports are needed. It prints vertically. Head down, tail up. I used 5% Gyroid infill. The overall length of this model is 200mm long by 73mm wide.
This is a beautiful example of a humpback whale. I like printing a scaled down version to look like a calf along side a full 200mm print.
It is such a fun print. I highly recommend it!

Printer:

Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Resolution:
.1618mm
Infill:
5% Gyroid
Filament: MakerGeeks PLA Baby Blue
Notes:
This model comes with a vertical support so NO support is needed other than what comes with the model. I also used 5% infill with a Gyroid pattern. Slicer program used is Cura 4.0. I also use 220°C on the hot end and 65°C on the bedplate I am using a .6mm nozzle. 60mm/sec speed allows the print to complete in a little over 7 hours at the full 200mm length.
Removal of Print Base (Support)
I use a pair of pliers to gently work the support attachments back and forth until the snap free from the model. Be careful with the nose connection. Carefully wiggle it back and forth. If you pull it too fast it might leave a hole in the model.
MS 3D Builder
Microsoft 3D Builder was used to make the minor changes to help with delta printing. I also enlarged the model to 200mm long.
