I was inspired by the recent posts of the guy who 3D printed the massive USS Cygnus from Disney's 1979 film The Black Hole. Unfortunately I don't have either the time to print that scale of model or the space with which to display it, so I went in search of a much MUCH smaller version and one that would sit nicely on my Shelf. As one didn't seem to exist, the only logical step to me was to create one myself.
Printer:
Anet A8
Rafts:
Yes
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
0.0825
Infill:
15
Filament: Technology Outlet PLA Grey
Printing advice:
I printed this at a 30 degree angle and found the Meshmixer supports produced the best - least damaging supports but fingers may have to be crossed. I'm sure this will print much better on a better printer.

I've upload lots of pictures and info on how this was created, printed and painted on Imgur.
