Inspired by this functional V8 engine model,

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1195361

I created a 6 cylinder Boxer model in the same style.
But as opposed to the V8 engine model I designed five crankshaft bearings, which resemble the original more than just two main bearings and a bulky crankshaft.

The crank principle is that from classic Porsche 911 engines. With crank angle sequence of 180°/180°/90° and with five main bearings to demonstrate the elaborate and perfect design of the original.

The 'sleeve'-file is not mandatory. I just made them to indicate the aircooled cylinders. And made them as separate parts for achievement of a nicer surface (no supports needed)

Since it's next to impossible to print the crankshaft in one piece because of the needed supports, which create ugly surfaces, I made it in several pieces, which have to be glued together.
This is a little bit tricky and requires some patience to align all parts properly. I recommend a slow curing glue and putting the crankshaft into the engine block while the glue cures.

And the printer has to be calibrated perfectly, especially regarding the Z-axis. Otherwise tiny errors sum up to a bigger error regarding the whole length of the crankshaft.
Maybe you have to play with Z-axis scale if it doesn't quite fit in the first place.

For the needed parts I have made a CAD-screenshot of the crankshaft showing the several parts in different colors. You need:

1x BX_crank1 (red)
3x BX_crank2 (yellow)
3x BX_crank3 (green)
3x BX_crank4 (light blue)
2x BX_crank5 (purple)
1x crankshft_end1 (dark blue)
1x crankshft_end2 (grey)

For the handcrank handle I have made a pilot hole I drilled to 3,2mm and tapped a M4 thread.
For the crankshaft and main bearings I made small pilot holes and used small pins to fix them after drilling the holes to their appropriate size.

Next project is a redesign of the V8 engine with similar single crankshaft bearings.

Supports needed on the pistons and the engine block. All other parts print fine without supports.
