Here are two versions of an approximately 1:80 scale model of the NASA Europa Spacecraft that is under design. Its purpose will be to orbit Jupiter and repeatedly fly close by the Galilean moon Europa to investigate it. Europa most likely hosts a global warm saltwater ocean beneath a thin icy shell.
The first version comprises one STL file, "Non-FDM-WholeEuropa2016.stl". This is intended for printing with other than FDM, Fused Deposition Manufacturing. It has all its parts assembled. The photovoltaic solar-panel wings are free to rotate in the printed unit. Some blue tape may be applied to the PV wings to simulate the solar cells.
The second option consists of the remaining three files. They serve as an alternative to the one above. The three separate files are intended for the popular household FDM printer; the parts can be printed on a flat pallet, assembled, and glued together.
This version improves upon and replaces the "PSG" version of scale model that was uploaded here earlier in 2016. It has been approved for public release by the Europa Mission Project as of 2016 July 15.
