The Dardo is an infantry fighting vehicle, produced in Italy by OTO Melara, a century-old company specialized in the construction of armaments of all kinds (mainly terrestrial), the Dardo has replaced the obsolete M113 supplied to the Army, and the versions from it is derived (M106 mortar holder and M577 command post).
It represents the basic model of a new family of A.F.V. being developed and which will include the mortar holder version, the control carriage version and the injector holder version. It is also designated by the initials VCC-80.
