These modifications and additions allow you to hide all wires in the arc reactor and print a stand with no assembly required.
With the end of RDJ Iron Man's arc (pun intended) in the MCU, I wanted to make a shelf-worthy "Proof that Tony Stark has a heart" arc reactor mk1.
Starting from Skimbal's arc reactor design, I wanted to make sure I had no exposed wires, so I added a wire channel to the cage to feed the outer ring wires through to the back of the arc reactor. I also added a ring cap to cover the backs of the LEDs and their wires and took away some material from the cage arms to fit this piece. A cap over the bottom of the cage covered the remaining LEDs and wires.
Starting with drandolph's cap design, I lengthened the cap to fit a 3.7v li-poly battery, switch, and usb charger from adafruit.com. This also allowed me to solder everything in parallel without using any resisters (don't hate). I included an hole for a short usb cable and the switch at the bottom with an extra piece to "plug" the negative space of the hole. Finally I removed the flared top so that I could glue the cap aligned with the arc reactor's cage so it looks like one piece.
Starting with chrish2011's "Proof that Tony Stark has a Heart" ring text, I made my own ring stand and base that would print in place in a single piece on my Replicator 2 and press-fit the arc reactor so that it is removable. The relief text was a bit wonky when sliced but still came out fine. Print face down and switch colors after the first two or so layers.
All parts printed on a Replicator 2 with no rafts or supports.
