A 50cm long model of a fictional destroyer design.
One of my "let's see where this goes" type of designs, where i had a sort of general idea of what i wanted to design, but not really anything beyond that.
That also means everything has been eyeballed, meaning i have no idea of the scale, or if the bits have very realistic dimensions.
I suppose it's somewhere around 1/200, but don't bet on that.
It was actually supposed to be one of those more modern GMD's (Guided Missile Destroyer)
But witch ended up going in a direction that looked more like a WWII destroyer of some sort.
After i had got the general shape of the ship done, i decided it would be fun to equip it with some Swedish designed/built armaments and started thinking that if Finland had a destroyer in WWII, what sort of armaments/equipment would it have.
The camouflage is based on the one in the Finnish warship Väinämöinen.

Putting the thing together
I wanted this model to be easily printable, even with smaller printers (area on mine is only 14x14x14 cm), and easy to assemble. Everything snaps together with minimal or no trimming required, and even stays together rather well with everything just snapped together in place (minus the mast top that needs to be glued in), tough i recommend you glue the bits together, as the funnels for instance, are a bit loose. There are also 2mm holes in some of the parts so you can more easily do some rigging on the model, using rope/string, or iron wire like i did. The image above should give you an idea of where everything goes.
List of parts
