This is a first attempt at making a 3D-printable "Lament Configuration" prop - also known as the box from the Hellraiser series of films. This comes as 6 faces to the box, which should meet up and fit together with the spherical linkage points - however glue will be needed to hold it together.
V2 will hopefully just slot together with no adhesives, but this is a first attempt, getting the detail on the faces correct was a higher priority.
This was designed using freecad, mainly as a learning experience to get up to speed on how to model with the software.
The face details were taken from Artist064 on Deviant art (http://artist064.deviantart.com/gallery/), converted to SVG with inkscape, then incorporated into the freecad design.
I will post the fcstd/svg files if theres any interest, let me know.
This has not yet been printed (as I have not yet finished building my reprap), so unsure how well it will look when completed at present.
If anyone tries printing this before I update this page, please let me know how it went!
