After creating my wooden chest (http://www.semaker.com/productdetail/3988) there was some Laywood Filament left over. So I created a barrel and printed it, the last three or so layers failed die to run out of filament...
This is a bit work in progress, I think the wooden structure needs to be a bit more, or a better printer is needed. So I again carved the details a bit and painted the iron rings black with a pencil. The barrel needs support on the bottom.

I started with a simple mesh and used the Subdivision Surface Modifier. Then I added a texture of wood and use a Displace Modifier to change the mesh according to the texture. Then I added iron Rings via the Boolean Add Modifier and modelled some planks to close it.
