Containment structure for cylindrical (sub)containers in a ship's hold. This is part of a rather sizeable project that, at the time of uploading this, is still a long way away from being complete.
I originally started modelling the ship whose hold this goes into as a toy coin carrying vessel and/or novelty coin collection storage box for coin collectors.
This structure goes into one of 3 main compartments in the ship's hull.
half1.zip and half2.zip are each high resolution .stl mesh exports of one half of the model.
The other .zip files are various 3D file format, lower granularity exports of the entire model.
The images are 3D renderings of the lower granularity exports of the entire model generated using POVRay.
Please note that this model was intended for being printable using highly accurate, powder bed SLS or SLM 3D printers. As such the model may not be suitable for easy or accurate rendition on a FLM or FFF 3D printer.
Hopefully you can make due and manage to print on whatever printer you own. I have no 3D printing experience (I only have 3D modelling experience) and no 3D printer of my own nor have I had this model printed using a 3D printing service so, unfortunately, I can offer no advise or recommendation on how to best print this model or even how to get it to print properly at all.
If you manage to get this printed properly please link back or otherwise let me know. I'd like to see how it turns out.
