This is a hanger I designed to allow me to spray paint model car bodies without laying them down. This allows me to suspend the car in the air via the roof, high enough to get coverage on overhangs, and keeps it stable while I paint. Strong enough to hold a 1/24 scale die cast Fiat 500 body with no issues, however plastic bodies or smaller vehicles may require the hanger to be taped down in order to prevent the spray paint pressure from blowing it over.

Any tips or comments are appreciated!

Honestly, any resolution should work, this object doesn't need to be detailed, so as low detail as possible without delamination of layers is best.

Assembly

Assembly should be relatively straightforward from looking at the finished product.

I recommend lightly sanding all mating surfaces that will be glued as it tend to form a much better bond with PLA and PVA glue.

  • Glue together the half-shafts to form the strut pieces, 5 in total.

    • There will be 2 struts with 1 hole in them for the top and bottom.

    • And 3 struts with holes on both sides for the center.

  • Then Glue the bottom Strut to the bottom piece.

  • Glue a peg into the top of the strut and then glue then next middle strut to it.

  • Repeat with the 2 other middle struts, finishing with the top strut.

  • Then glue the top piece on.

These instructions sounds terrible to me, but it's hard to explain without showing.

If anybody has any trouble understanding the instructions, please comment and I will gladly improve them. Just trying to get this up quick in case somebody really needs this sort of thing.

HAPPY PRINTING!

Oh, and HAPPY PAINTING!
