Hey everyone, I have made a model to commemorate the first landing of the SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket.
I wanted something to display that would show off this tremendous and inspiring event.
as always if you undertake making one of these and have questions please ask. Most of the purpose for me spending the many many hours to do this is so that others can recreate this work and share in the inspiration and education.
I will do my best to spend time organizing and clarifying things over the next few weeks, but dont wait for it to be perfect to start building yours. I will respond quickly to questions. You will learn the most if you mess up and problem solve. The struggle has always been the source of my learning. I dont want people to get discourraged, but if your uncomfortable it means your growing! just dive in and eff stuff up! My general philosopy is people that want to get good at something usually just mess up enough to eventually have made all the mistakes. Also this project is FAR from perfect so please show off your work! I love seeing it.
I love this stuff so its never a bother to hear from others working on creating.
The files are not quite as organized as I would like, but everything i printed should be here.
I suggest testing the PVC interface parts first with your selected PVC size to figure out a scaling factor for your print, as your material and printer will likely need some tweaking and the parts that interface with the PVC should set the scale for everything else.
I have attempted to upload the instructions I have so far, but please let me know where you have trouble so i can improve and also complete the instructions to make this as easy as possible for anyone to undertake.
as a side note. I made an extra one of these to give to Mr. Musk for providing me so much inspiration. I would love to find a way to get it to him as a thank you. I dont even need to meet him I just want him to have it to do with as he pleases. So if you know how i can make this happen please let me know, it would mean the world to me to get one of these to him.
