"The spread of civilization may be likened to a fire; first, a feeble spark, next a flickering flame, then a mighty blaze, ever increasing in speed and power."
Serbian-American engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) made dozens of breakthroughs in the production, transmission and application of electric power. He invented the first AC motor and developed AC generation and transmission technology. Though he was famous and respected, he was never able to translate his copious inventions into long-term financial success—unlike his early employer and chief rival, Thomas Edison.
The second photo with the gray Hairy Tesla has a print error, a tree fell into a power line causing a power outage while I was printing. The result is my attempt at restarting the print after power was restored. My estimation had the print head about 1mm above the print when it resumed, oops.
