This is the new Star Trek Discovery Captain's Insignia. Magnets can be glued to the backplate and front so that it can be worn without any damage to clothing. That would also means it sticks to your dry-erase board or refrigerator! I used 5mm x 1mm magnets and gorilla glue.
The captain's insignia should be painted in gold.
I used the Star Trek Discovery most recent insignia from the Star Trek logo for the canvas in Fusion 360 to get the overall shape correct. I matched features for the Captain's insignia using screen captures from the most recent trailer at the time. The captain has 4 (raised) pips on the surface of the insignia, other ranks might actually have holes or combination of raised pips and holes.
